Some plates are too cute to throw away or use at the dinner table, even if they’re made of plastic. So why not display them in your kitchen? An interesting idea is to use them to decorate your backsplash. You can hang them with pop can tabs although other techniques can be just as practical and simple. Feel free to improvise.
This is a lovely and inviting cottage‐style kitchen with a traditional interior design. It features white furniture throughout with natural wood details and accent pieces. The balance between the coldness of the white elements and the warmth brought by the wood elements is very nice. The kitchen island is small and doubles as a breakfast table.
This second project is another easy to do project for a kitchen wall. The awesome idea uses wine corks standing on their ends to make a beautiful contemporary and natural‐looking warm toned backsplash. There are many ways to make a DIY backsplash from wine corks, but the simplest one is to glue the corks on a board and then attach the board to your kitchen wall.
Make a small, mobile kitchen island using an Expedit shelving unit, Lagan countertop and Branas baskets, all from Ikea. First assemble the bookshelf, attach castors to the bottom panel, cut the countertop to the desired dimensions, secure it with brackets into an L‐shape and then cut an opening above one of the baskets for the garbage bin.
Though, there is always one problem related to black appliances. As most of the people don’t know how to compile the colors from their kitchen in order to look good – quite astonishing in some professional cases ‐, even though they have bought new, expensive and elegant black appliances, they can’t decorate their kitchen cleverly. What could be the result of such a thing? A total mess, of course, or in the best case, just another kitsch.
